Up to Present Day

Hey it's been some time since being on here, glad I found it.

I am doing two studies: Hosea and Disciplines of a Godly Woman. They both has been very good studies.

I was working on Disciplines of a Godly woman last night.  I have been learning a few that I never thought about or for whatever reason not having a clear picture.

how she put it but, she went through some scriptures from the Old Testament and the new.

The term kept being expressed-"according to the scriptures" several times.

In 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Christ died for us, He was buried, He was raised on the third day, and all these things happened according to the scriptures. (Yes, I very well knew this).

The first hint of truth came in Genesis 3:15-In the Garden of Eden where God promised that a descendant

of the woman Eve, would crush Satan's head. (My thought, yes, I knew about Garden of Eden, I knew God made a promise- a descendant would crush Satan's head meant-Jesus crushes Satan's head by defeating sin, death and Satan.).

It's a pretty neat thought that " Christ Himself also referred to the Old Testament Scriptures in order to explain the Gospel to the dejected disciples, (I had to look up the word dejected- which means they were downcast believers- people who loved Jesus but felt confused, defeated, or emotionally low because something had shaken their faith or expectations.) along the Emmaus road following His resurrection. He chided with them with these words; " How slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?' And beginning  with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself" (Luke 24:24-27).

That must have been a long and an amazing Bible study. I can relate to slow of heart for sure. Thinking of all The Prophets - all who of the grace that was to come to the future-us. All the prophetic promises. So, to think they were serving us in the future. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, David, and all the rest of the prophets wrote their books in order that we who live on this side of the cross might recognize Jesus as the Christ, the one true Messiah who alone holds the words of life- the Gospel. (Romans 15:4).

Well, I guess this is the end since the post is limited to so many lines. I need to figure that out. Til next time.
